HP Tyres Dunlop Racing ordering procedure (EU countries)

The technical regulations of NKHTGT powered by Nolte Küchen follow FIA appendix K rules. To comply with this, only Dunlop Racing tyres are eligible. Distributor HP Tyres informs us that all sizes are available and in stock. HP Tyres can ship the tyres by courier to EU countries. At the moment this takes a few days longer than usual due to the new post-Brexit procedures for goods exported from the UK to the EU.

HP Tyres has outlined the following simple procedures for suppliers, teams and drivers when ordering tyres:

Orders by EU Businesses
Business orders can be made by email or telephone as usual. A pro-forma invoice will be sent to the customer for payment and tyres will be dispatched once payment has been received. This invoice will be zero-rated for UK VAT. HP Tyres will ask the customer for a VAT number and EORI number. If you do not have an EORI number, this can easily be obtained. HP will dispatch the tyres and once they reach the Customs office in the country of destination, you will be contacted to pay VAT before clearance of the tyres. The amount payable will be the VAT rate of the import country, for example if sending to the Netherlands, the VAT rate of 21% will be payable to customs to clear the tyres. A small handling fee will also be applied but NO DUTY should be applied to the goods as the Dunlop Historic range are manufactured in the EU and the Brexit deal states that the duty should therefore be 0%. If you have a VAT registered business in your country, you will be able to claim back the paid VAT.

Private orders by EU Non-Business Customers
Orders can be made as usual by email or telephone. A pro-forma invoice will be sent to the customer for payment; HPTyres will calculate the customers VAT and carriage charges and HP Tyres will then pay all the taxes applicable, through their courier. The tyres will be dispatched on a door-to-door service once payment has been received.

In short, HP Tyres is making every effort to ensure that deliveries run smoothly. Prices have remained virtually unchanged compared to last year.

With sufficient orders, HP Tyres can deliver the tires to Zandvoort on the Thursday prior to our race at Zolder (July 15th 2021). Of course it is also possible to order your Dunlop tires from a supplier within the Netherlands (or another EU country) and have them take care of the import. Other suppliers include GT Autoparts in Soest and for Germany Ben Becker.

In memoriam Marius Du Toy van Hees

On Thursday our former scrutineer Marius Du Toy van Hees passed away. About 40 years ago Marius single handedly restored and race-prepared a Lotus Elite. From 1983 he competed in HARC races. He also raced internationally in the FISA European historic GT championship. After hanging up his helmet, the Lotus became a grand touring car. With his wife Marlies he travelled tens of thousands of kilometres throughout Europe. In his role as technical delegate, Marius could express his enormous love of technology. His contribution to the establishment and professionalisation of technical inspections for historic racing cars cannot not be underestimated. His almost encyclopaedic knowledge of the technology of historic cars was of enormous value in issuing FIA Historic Technical Passports and FIVA Identity Cards. In his role as chief scrutineer he subsequently checked these documents at countless races and rallies. With his always calm but strict demeanour, he was one of the pillars of the success of the NK HTGT. Marius had been seriously ill for some time and passed away on Thursday morning. Marius will be deeply missed by the historic racing fraternity. We wish Marlies and the rest of the family lots of courage to cope with this loss.
